Subhead

/

Design

Create a secondary area of interest with medium type.

Subheads create ownership and define a specific area of an interface, such as a list or small text block.

Version 5+
If using Uniform Version 5 or later, please refer to our Storybook docs for the Subhead documentation and examples.

Size

Consider the piece of interface in question as you choose between these three.

We help you win.

Default: The same size as default text. It conveys ownership, but doesn’t dominate the text block that follows.

Usage

The subhead should be the first choice to heirarchally label different areas of content. Use it to separate long runs of copy into mangeable pieces. For example, the subhead should be the first choice when breaking a long form into many sections.

Microcopy

Use the UI label guidelines when typesetting subheads.
